Practicum Students

AYP supports universities across Edmonton with Practicum experience. This year we have the honour and pleasure of working with Community Services Learning (through the University of Alberta) Norquest College, and Concordia University hosting practicum students throughout the year.

What are you most excited about at AYP?
The opportunity to help foster the development of life skills for kids through AYP's programs. I grew up in an active  environment, where I was fortunate to learn first hand the valuable life lessons that can be developed from sport and activities. These are skills that continue to shape my identity and I look forward to nurturing the future skill development for kids in our community.
Fun Fact about me!
A fun fact about myself is that I played college basketball at Concordia University of Edmonton for four years!

What I am most excited about is the experience I will gain from working here with the whole team. I love everything that AYP stands for, it's something that I have always been interested in. I am excited to see how things work around in the centre, and learn more about the programs. I think this opportunity will help me grow as a person and in my future career. I can't wait for what the year will bring!!

What are you most excited about at AYP?
I’m very excited for my practicum experience at Abbottsfield Youth Project because I think it’s a wonderful organization that provides free life-skills programs for children who are in high-risk communities. I am looking forward to work with the amazing staff and the children who participate in the program. I hope to learn from them and share my skills and knowledge with them.

I have a deep passion for both gardening and dancing.
