High School Leadership Program

The purpose of this program is to provide youth in grades 9-12 with leadership opportunities, connection to community and peers, and to explore career opportunities.
During the summer, youth in Grades 9-12 were given the opportunity to explore career opportunities, build resumes, attend First-Aid Training & Leadership Training. They also were able to connect with the community and their peers by participating in activities like wood-working, community clean-up, Bubble Soccer, Foam Fighters and picnics.

These youth are currently volunteering their time to be Trusted Mentors for our younger participants in our COLS and Auxiliary Programs.

Take a look at all the amazing things these youth got up to this summer!

They built benches for the community!

In collaboration with PCL construction, each high school participant were able to hand paint a unique portion of each bench as well as help construct each bench. The participants also engaged in a wonderful conversation regarding the trades and the different opportunities they may have in that field!

They volunteered at the Edmonton Food Bank!

Participants help separate supplies, stock shelves, and build food hampers for the Edmonton Food Bank. This was an awesome experience for the participants and now gives them the ability to go back to volunteer again.

Lots of fun on field trips!

This past summer was filled with many different field trips such as dragon boating, swimming, an escape room, as well as visiting Elk Island and Sysco headquarters.
